Sports Programs:

Sports include tennis, basketball, swim, queer martial arts, flag football, pilates, and summer youth basketball. Additional offerings have included swing dance, HIIT workouts, and a walking birdwatching tour.

Why It Matters

22% of LGBTQ+ students avoided athletic fields or facilities because they felt unsafe or uncomfortable at school. 38% avoided locker rooms, because they felt unsafe or uncomfortable at school.

Transgender people are more likely to avoid gyms and recreational facilities due to fear of mistreatment.

According to the 2022 U.S. Trans Survey, nearly one-third (30%) of respondents reported being verbally harassed in the last 12 months because of their gender identity or expression.
