Program Information

It is application season at Brooklyn Community Boards and Borough President Antonio Reynoso is inviting Brooklynites ages 16 and older to apply!

One of the Borough President’s stated values is to ensure that community boards reflect demographic data and include among others, NYCHA residents, renters, persons 16-39, persons with disabilities, immigrants as well as persons in a wide range of professions.

As the most grassroots form of City government, Brooklyn’s 18 community boards meet monthly to discuss, monitor, and shape communities on issues such as land use, housing, cannabis/liquor licenses, sanitation, youth, economic development, and transportation. Boards members are volunteer advocates who take an oath to bridge the gap between residents’ concerns and city government interests.

Join us to learn about how you can:

  • Apply to serve on their community board.

  • Share feedback on priorities relevant to local interests.
