About the event
All are welcome!
We’ll be using the first few weeks to gauge interest, determine the varying levels of play, and develop a structure that works for all participants.Â
We don't keep score and our goal is work on our game and build community.  We’re here to have fun and create a space that is as much about socializing as it is about basketball! Reach out if you have any questions: bkpridecenterbball@gmail.comÂ
About the FacilitatorsÂ
Marion Lozano  is an Audio Engineer and Sound Designer for The New York Times. She works on podcasts such as The Daily, Modern Love, and Still Processing. In her down time, she enjoys long walks with her dog Nutmeg and a competitive game of Ticket to Ride. Growing up she played basketball and volleyball. She went on to play collegiate volleyball, however, she never stopped playing basketball and probably never will. Currently, she plays in the Word Ball basketball league and enjoys a pick up game whenever possible. She’s excited to participate in the Brooklyn Pride Center’s basketball open runs and can’t wait to meet everyone! IG @mzzanoo  Â
Alison Newell is a consultant working to support grassroots political candidates, advocacy organizations, and community outreach for public schools across NYC. She’s an avid NY Liberty fan, runner, and VERY proud aunt – patiently waiting for her niece and nephew’s interest in basketball to develop. She enjoys playing in the Pride and Word Ball basketball leagues and is excited to play and build community with the Brooklyn Pride Center’s Open Gym Nights. She can be found on IG @ali7n.
