Executive Director

Brooklyn Community Pride Center is looking for a passionate and community-focused professional with solid operational and organizational development abilities, and an inclusive, motivational approach to leadership. Candidates for this position should also have a demonstrated track record of working in, with, and/or on behalf of, the communities the Pride Center serves.

Brooklyn Community Pride Center operates from two locations in Brooklyn; one in Crown Heights and one in Bed-Stuy. It has a current revenue budget of around $1.2 million and employs a team of six full-time and five part-time staff (in addition to a host of volunteers), representing a nearly 300% increase in the size of staff and budget in about four years.

This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a growing LGBTQ+ organization through a time of dynamic transformation, and to bring their own lived and professional experience to informing what the organization becomes, who it serves, how it engages constituents, and how its work is resourced. Organizational priorities for the Pride Center (as identified in our recent transition study) include:

Ensuring financial sustainability through increased revenue generation and sound financial stewardship;
Developing and implementing organizational growth strategies – including increased staffing – to expand capacity;
Raising visibility, awareness, and understanding of the center's work and accomplishments with all audiences;
Strengthen operational systems and structures that support the center's people and programs;
Growing, expanding, and continually evaluating programs and services to align with evolving community needs.

Compensation is in the range of $150,000 p/year plus benefits. The position is located in Brooklyn. Brooklyn Community Pride Center operates in an in-person/in-office environment (e.g., not a remote position).
