About the event
Dance As If UCARE!! Is a mind, body, and spirit-nourishing dance program that blends meditative, aerobic, and anaerobic exercises.
Basic choreography is included in some of our dance programs, while others are more meditative, with an unscripted routine concentrating solely on ecstatic movement to encourage participants to come as they are and use dance to connect with feelings and express themselves in a nonjudgmental way.
What will you get out of it?
- Develop emotional mindfulness with positive impact on mental health and raise your sense of self-esteem through the arts.
- Recognize any undesirable feelings that may surface, accept them, and release them.
- Positive impact on problem-solving skills as you become more adaptable, creative, and Express yourself and tell your story in a unique way by using creative non-verbal techniques.
Facilitated by Alisha Collins, CEO of Creatively Releasing of NY. Alisha is certified in early intervention, dance movement therapy, and several other social work specialties. Alisha has been teaching beginner hip-hop, ecstatic dance, and guided meditation for more than 9 years.
